Zombified: Backroom eugenics

Zombified and not to be confused with the Swedish death grind band with the same name. This band are from Northern Ireland and this is their second release. The EP opens with a sample of Kevin Spacey’s rant from 7 before “Limb After Limb” starts proceedings in a pleasingly solid and catchy manner. What we have here is pretty standard death metal somewhere between Cannibal Corpse, Broken Hope and Morbid Angel. The production is heavy and gives the music some muscle particularly with the guitar tones and the band has a pretty good drummer who lends the songs a solid backbone. “The Forgotten Art of Strangulation” and “The Insidious Tragedy” are both songs worth mentioning and manage to be heavy and catchy at the same time. While the band is really not doing anything new, “Backroom Eugenics” is a pretty fucking solid little release. This has got me looking forward to a full length from this band.

After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
